Ali Salman (CEO)

Ali Salman is a founding member and CEO of Islam & Liberty Network. He has published a well-received book Islam and Economics: Markets, Morals & Justice (Acton, 2021). Ali is based in Islamabad, where he heads Policy Research Institute of Market Economy (PRIME), an independent economic think tank in Pakistan that he founded in 2013. During 2017-2020, he served as CEO of Malaysia’s prominent independent think tank, IDEAS. Ali has remained actively engaged with the government as an economist and public policy expert especially in the areas of public finance, regional trade, competition policy, and youth policy. He holds master’s degrees in Economics, Public Policy and Business Administration. He writes op-eds on the economy for Express Tribune, a partner publication of New York Times.

Noor Netusha Nusaybah (Program Manager)

Noor Netusha Nusaybah is a Program Manager at the Islam and Liberty Network Foundation. Noor is based in Kuala Lumpur, where she works as an independent researcher and consultant on human rights issues in Southeast Asia with various nonprofit organisations. Noor graduated with a MPhil in World History from the University of Cambridge as a recipient of the Tunku Abdul Rahman Fund at St Catharine’s College. She previously attained a Bachelors in International Relations from the University of Nottingham Malaysia. Her research interests include history of political thought, Islamic studies, Asian studies and international development.

Ahmad Bashier (Officer)

Ahmad Bashier is an officer in Islam and Liberty Network (L) Foundation. He is Chartered Accountant (CA) and ASEAN Chartered Professional Accountant (ASEAN CPA) under Malaysia Institute of Accountant (MIA). He has 8 years experience in accounting and auditing. Bashier graduated with a Bachelors degree in Accountancy (Honours) from University of Malaya (UM). He worked as an Audit Associate at Khairuddin, Hasyudeen & Razi (KHR). Bashier believes that nothing is impossible in this world.

Jaling Sim (Social Media Coordinator)

Jaling Sim serves as the Social Media Coordinator at the Islam and Liberty Network Foundation. With a Bachelor of Arts in International Communication Studies from the University of Nottingham Malaysia, Jaling brings a unique perspective to digital engagement strategies.

Her expertise includes content creation, community management, and strategic communication across multiple platforms. At the Islam and Liberty Network Foundation, she works to amplify academic discourse and practical initiatives that promote individual rights, religious freedom, and economic equality.
